Capital Markets, Investment Climate & Investor Protection in Kazakhstan

As a new member of the British Chamber of Commerce in Kazakhstan, I found the Capital Markets, Investment Climate & Investor Protection in Kazakhstan event to be very informative.

The presentation by Assel Aitkhozhina from EBRD covered the high growth rates experienced across Central Asia and provided a deep insight into the implications for their economies. It reaffirmed how remittances play an important role and how commodity prices contribute to fragile trade balances. It also drew attention to the aging infrastructure in the energy sector.

Sultan Zhumagali from BCC Invest presented a recent review of financial markets in Kazakhstan.

Bauyrzhan Yeraly, the Chairman of the Investor Rights Protection Committee, introduced the Investor Rights Protection and Regulatory Framework.

The event ended with the signing of an agreement between the Investor Rights Committee and the British Chamber of Commerce.

I had the pleasure of meeting several members of the British Chamber of Commerce and look forward to further engaging with their activities and continuing our discussions!
