Both principal consultants have amassed an impressive range of skills and experience, in an international setting, focused on the higher education sector. We are committed to supporting institutions, academics and students.

Dr Alastair Milne

Alastair’s industry career spans over 30 years. He worked as a database specialist before moving into project, change and senior management positions across a range of sectors and employers, including the BBC and Times Higher Education, where he was responsible for the THE World University Rankings. He has a PhD in Management from Birkbeck College, University of London, on the topic of digital transformation and has published in leading academic journals. He has taught a range of business and management subjects to Foundation, Undergraduate, Masters, MBA and PhD students in the UK and at British universities in Cairo and Kazakhstan. He is an expert in research methods, particularly in qualitative research and has supervised many Masters dissertations. His research interests cover change management, digital transformation, and the impact of AI.

Alastair has professional certifications in Change Management (APM), Programme Management (MSP) and Project Management (APM, PRINCE 2). He is a Member of the Association for Project Management and the Change Management Institute. He is an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (Advance HE). Alastair speaks conversational Spanish and Turkish. He is currently learning Russian.

Alastair was most recently engaged by the University of Cambridge to lead a project on curriculum development, ensuring that students gain the skills needed for the modern workforce.

Dr Zeynep Kacmaz Milne

An alumni of the coveted Chevening Scholarship, Zeynep has a Master’s degree in International Marketing from the University of Strathclyde, with a dissertation on the Central Asian Republics. She worked for the Italian Trade Agency and the Automotive Association of Turkey. 

After obtaining a PhD in Banking at Marmara University, she taught finance, banking and business courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in the UK, Turkey and Egypt. She also holds an MA degree in Teaching and Learning in Professional and Academic Education from the Institute of Education, University College London. Her research interests cover digital currencies, sustainable banking, and digital literacy in higher education. 

Zeynep holds professional certifications in Project Management (CAPM) and Sustainable Business Management (CISL, University of Cambridge). She is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (Advance HE). 

She most recently was employed as Centre Coordinator for a research centre at the University of Cambridge.

Zeynep speaks fluent Turkish, English and Italian. She is currently learning Russian.
